Cancer

Well is been an up and down week. I got a replacement laptop friday evening finally so that made me pretty happy. My boyfriend has a job interview today. But at the same time I had a really crappy day. I just found out that my Uncle Randy has prostate cancer, and it has spread but the doctors dont know how far. Im kindof freaking out.

After losing my grandfather a few years ago to cancer, I dont know if I can handle losing another member of my family to cancer. Its been runnning through my family for years, both of my grandmothers, my grandfather, my aunt, my uncle, now this uncle. Im getting nervous that its comming for me.

I have a breast exam this week. My boyfriend thinks he found a lump. So Im pretty nervous...

WHOS WATCHING YOU

Well the purpose of this series of images is to illustrate that no matter what, we are constantly under surveillance, and we can be by anyone. It was so simple for me to get so zoomed into the area I was somewhat surprised. It just goes to show that even though you may not see a camera in your face or in the corner of a department store, doesn't mean no one is "watching" you.

Well right now I'm going to take a moment to post some of my "very old" artwork.

First, is my watercolour drawing/painting (i say drawing/painting since I use watercolour pencils) it is a rendering of a photo of Kate Blanchett in a fashion magazine. Im trying to track it down to give a link and name of photographer but right now I cant seem to find it, as soon as I do I will post it.

Secondly I have a painting done in acrylics on canvas. It is all about dreams, nightmares and such, and the things that go on in our heads when we sleep.

And the final piece I will post for the day is the watercolour on the left I did about two years ago.

Art Project

Well for my first project in mixed media and digital technology was not what I expected it to be really. We are essentially taking a cell phone and using it for its non-recomended purpose. For example:

Texing
Calling
Photos
Email
Music
ect...

Are all purposes of the cell phone. On the other hand things such as:

Eating
Shoveling snow
Hat wearing
Fixing wobbly tables by sticking it under the shorter leg
ect...

Are NOT recomended purposes for obvious reasons. I am using photo documentation to do this project and I am going to use my cell phone to take the pictures. Just to try to be somewhat creative with the project although I asume many of my classmates have come up with the same idea.
